Don’t ask me why, but tracing over ads cracks me up:

10 Statements (improvised via Mapping the Mind)

10 Statements (improvised via Mapping the Mind)

  1. ‘The answer ‘as facsimile (for the) ‘first story (works by) ‘pursuing the model (of the) ‘circuit.
  2. ‘Another ‘multifaceted ‘predisposition ‘arises (with the) ‘urge’ to wash ‘the mechanism.
  3. ‘However, ‘the range ‘of memories ‘in parallel streams (might) ‘work (as though) ‘rising (into) ‘an automatic ‘trigger.
  4. ‘Thinking about words ‘as representations (of) ‘accompanied ‘flight (might illustrate) ‘and produce a ’specific ‘feedback/’reward ’stream.
  5. ‘To discover (that) ‘we live (as) ’situation, (an) ‘abundance of ‘causal (and casual) ‘relation (leaving maps for) ‘forms (to follow).
  6. ‘To discover (that) ‘things change (according to) ‘an awareness of ’structure and function, (made strange and) ‘illuminated (by) ‘phenomenon, ‘a reminder ‘of regions.
  7. ‘Their skilled ‘patchwork ‘intuitively ‘indicated (via flow of) ‘no ‘condition.
  8. (Another) ’round of ‘processing ‘the flight (might reveal) ‘reminders, ‘gorgeous, ‘excitable, ‘marching right in ‘through ‘fascination’s ‘over-active ‘circuit.
  9. ‘Once ’suggested, ‘the distant possibility (becomes more) ‘active ‘in attention ‘according to ‘the firing rate ‘of memories (etc) ‘woven round (each moment of) ‘the drawing (forth.
  10. ‘We recall ‘this reading (it has changed) ‘the sound (of every channel) ‘they have gone (down).

A note on method:

Statements are improvised by rapidly flipping through the source text, pulling fragments together with a general “intent to state” something meaningful about the terrain. The apostrophes and parentheses meant to convey a rough sense of how I’m improvising the statements. An apostrophe denotes the start of a string found in the original text. A phrase in parentheses denotes a phrase I inserted (on the fly) to “drive” the emerging statement towards being more … statement-y.

10 Statements (improvised via Conceptual Spaces)

10 Statements (improvised via Conceptual Spaces)

  1. ‘Domains (have a) ‘fuzzy (relationship) (in constant) ‘calibration (and collaboration) (with the) ‘metric (located in the) ‘projectible ‘concept.
  2. (Meanwhile), ‘the movement (of) ‘the other domains ‘conceives ‘its role (and assigns it a value).
  3. ‘The mapping ‘of examples (to themselves) (gives pleasure).
  4. ‘The grid (gives) ‘focus (to some) ’small ‘feats (of) (radical) ‘radial ’summations ‘obtained (via) ‘measurements (between).
  5. ‘Each class ‘handles (its objects) ‘with ’scales (and) ‘comparisons ‘underpinning ‘more precise (yet fluid) ‘multidimensional scaling.
  6. ‘It will ‘prototype ‘within the ‘concept (then) ‘generate ‘relations (to bridge dimensions).
  7. ‘Let us ’summarize (some of their) ‘names ‘as weights (, assign them values according to some game).
  8. ‘But when, ‘by and large, (the) ‘possible worlds (emerge), the ‘notion of salience (must yield some) ‘measurable ‘talking (and taking into) ‘perspective.
  9. ‘The link ‘forms ‘a special property.
  10. ‘A relation ‘is expanded ‘as a ’skin.

Key, or, how it happened:

‘ = string found in original text

( ) = inserted phrase

iPhone App Test

On a train back from a meeting in NYC & just got the new WordPress iPhone app. So…this is an official test. (Still pissed off at Apple for not programming the keyboard to flip to horizontal in writing apps).

So… here’s a pic for you.

It’s a photoshopped pic of me dancing on New Year’s Eve two years ago in NC. One of the developers from my office took the initial picture and pasted my face on everyone around me. Can you spot the sweaty, sexy orignal me?

Everything is Too Much (for Cathy) - from “My Friend Books”

Initial reading and improvised recombinant readings of the “friend book” I made for Cathy Eisenhower.

  1. Everything is Too Much (for Cathy) - Initial Reading
  2. Everything is Too Much (for Cathy) - First Improvised Recombinant Reading
  3. Everything is Too Much (for Cathy) - Second Reading

(more about “My Friend Books“)

Some Fragments (taken directly from the readings):

  • in the definitive story, identification made easy
  • if revised,
  • mark the moment in a temporary “best of church”
  • I learned things, and then I got to figure
  • tell me the view from frame
  • written by a resident of somewheres
  • waving to things so wrapped in stuff of other stuff
  • stuff staring at sound
  • sketch some texture
  • or harvest or scan or make a brand
  • everything is in being said
  • through the years we compose these houses of other stuff, and wave at other things so wrapped in too much view

Refinitions (remixes/feedback refineries, improvised while listening to the readings now)

  • into some ongoing other view, a styled scan, a sketch with hooks
  • to give it a texture while staring at the sound
  • to sketch some walking into the ongoing elemental posing frame
  • in the making, making a sketch of what exactly revises in time
  • the structure of a current, of a currency

User Diagram

Just started trying out Evernote, a note-taking/keeping app. Not really sure if I need another one of those, but it works nicely on my iPhone, so we’ll see.

At any rate, my first “note” was of a little diagram post-it I had on my desk at work:

User Diagram

My handwriting (as normal) is atrocious, but lends itself to some swell misreading-based statements:

  • The user is surrounded by causes. & organizations.
  • Local causes, probable causes.
  • Actions also appear.
  • And other causalities.
  • Local production with general action.
  • The user has a name (probably) and takes some actions.
  • These actions may appear here or appear “out of the frame”
  • Things are things in a series.

STATEMENT SESSIONS

Sheesh. Every damn time I sit down to do a post I end up starting a new spreadsheet project.

It probably has something to do with my desire to write and communicate in a quick, improvisatory, fluid format. That doesn’t feel like “writing.” More like “channeling.”

More to come on what this project probably means. But for now, I am tired. So it’s off to bed for me, and

off to the spreadsheet for you.
